The Château Horace Vernet is about to write a new chapter in its history: only 12 apartments at the
heart of a historic residence, restored with elegance.

The project
Le Vernet will undergo a complete and meticulous restoration, giving rise to 12 high-end apartments, ranging from studios to 4-room units, with spacious interiors from 23.24 m² to 101.83 m². Each apartment will feature premium finishes, two parking spaces, and privileged access to expansive green spaces. This intimate development seamlessly blends the authentic charm of historic architecture with uncompromising modern comfort.
Special care will be taken to enhance the château’s historic features, making each apartment a rare property full of soul and character. Common areas will be designed by an interior architect, who will also offer personalized design options for each apartment upon request.

the architect’s statement
The building combines volumes and architectural elements drawn from various periods and geographical origins to create an exotic image typical of seaside resort architecture. It was the painter Horace Vernet who had this manor built, evoking a medieval residence through its volumes and ornate façades: round towers built in irregular stone masonry – opus incertum -, the diamond-shaped chapel façade, twin windows, mullioned openings, and the fortified stone base all reflecting the « troubadour style » favored by the château. Later, Moorish-inspired decorative elements were added to the façades. Subsequent additions included an East wing and a square tower topped with a belvedere, providing access to a panoramic terrace.
The building took on the ambiguous appearance it is known for today: between brutalism and elegance, a dreamlike residence that evokes other times and places.
The restoration project preserves and enhances the château’s key architectural elements. The façades and roofs will be restored identically, with only minor, localized adaptations. All other openings will be refurbished, fitted with insulating wooden windows and shutters identical to the originals. Interior renovations will respect the existing structures and volumes as much as possible.
Original staircases will be preserved and restored. The most distinctive volumes and materials will be highlighted and carefully restored. Integrated within the original complex layout, each apartment will be unique and benefit from personalized interior architecture. The park will retain its main East-West axis, leading from the château gates. New tall trees cypress and mimosa will be planted to recreate a green border. This project is, above all, the architectural restoration and preservation of a heritage site.
Rather than being repurposed, the Château will return to its original use as a home this time housing a collection of exceptional residences: Le Vernet.”
